Swedish Massage

The focus of Swedish massage is on calming the nervous system and increasing circulation through rhythmic strokes applied to muscle groups. This style is ideal for relaxation, race recovery, and overall health and wellness. Swedish techniques are used on their own or as preparation for neuromuscular therapy and deeper fascial work.

Deep Tissue/Myofascial Release

True deep tissue work does not simply mean using more pressure. It is a specific approach to working with the musculoskeletal system that focuses on releasing fascial tightness, adhesions and restrictions. Fascia is the connective tissue that covers muscle segments, individual muscles and muscle groups. Fascial tightness can result from injury, lack of movement, postural distortion, repetitive movement patterns, and aging. Lengthening and freeing this tissue creates more fluid movement and can offer a unique feeling of relief in the body.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is an approach to postural analysis that helps the practitioner identify the underlying causes of chronic pain. Especially when other modalities haven’t helped, this specific attention to alignment and posture can uncover muscular compensation patterns and sources of overstimulation to the nervous system.

Highly specific massage techniques are used to relieve these muscular compensations, release trigger points, bring the body into better alignment, and calm the nervous system.

Pre and Post Natal Massage

The nurturing touch of massage is invaluable during pregnancy and following child birth to help new mothers feel calm and centered. Special positioning and plenty of pillows are used to create comfort during the session. Massage is also effective in treating low back and hip pain that may result from pregnancy and easing postpartum depression.
